ECO

There are two ways you can volunteer at the Ecomuseum:

Become a DOCENT:

The word “docent” is derived from the latin word meaning teacher. Docents give tours and talks to groups of children, student and adult visitors. They also handle touch tables, greet visitors and represent the Ecomuseum at science fairs and environmental events.

Docents acquire their knowledge by following a 12-15 week training session on the natural history of the region.

You must be at least 18 years of age to become a docent and willing to commit half a day per week for at least two seasons of the year.

Become a GENERAL VOLUNTEER:

General volunteers help out with maintenance of the buildings and site, landscaping, construction, painting, and cleaning. They also help out with reception, the gift shop, photocopying, text revision and translation, fund raising, special events and computer data entry.

You must be at least 16 years of age to become a general volunteer and willing to commit at least 2 hours per week

BECOMING A VOLUNTEER AT THE ECOMUSEUM IS AN OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN NEW SKILLS, MEET NEW CHALLENGES AND IS ALSO A GREAT WAY TO ENJOY NATURE AND MEET NEW PEOPLE!
