The Ecomuseum zoo is a private charity whose mission is largely supported by the generosity of donors and volunteers. You can be part of the Ecomuseum zoo family by making a donation or by volunteering.
The Ecomuseum zoo is renowned for its innovative and fun education programs and for its extensive collection of exclusively indigenous mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and fish. For us, environmental education means establishing relationships with the communities that have a stake in the preservation of the ecosystems of the Saint-Lawrence Valley.
The Ecomuseum is operated by a small team of passionate and dedicated employees who also benefit from the essential support of more than eighty devoted volunteers who generously give over six thousand hours of their time every year.
As an unsubsidized private charitable organization (B/N 13158 1761 RR 0001), the Ecomuseum’s operational costs are covered by revenues from admissions, education programs, research and conservation consulting work, the gift shop and animal sponsorship programs. Donations received through our fundraising campaigns serve to finance the maintenance and development of animal enclosures which inherently are an integral part of the delivery process for our environmental education and conservation messages.
